The Township 9 master plan near Downtown Sacramento is buzzing with activity as construction advances on the next phase of this transformative project. The development is taking shape, with ten multi-unit structures now topped out, bringing 372 garden-style units across four blocks.

What’s Happening at Township 9

In this phase, 372 dwellings are set to span a total of 377,000 square feet. The LRS Architects-designed clubhouse is nearing completion and promises to be a hub of activity, featuring a fitness center, game room, lounge, workspace, and an outdoor pool deck. San Diego-based Architects Local is the creative force behind the residential architecture.

Community and Connectivity
These new apartments are rising next to Cannery Place Apartments, a five-story affordable housing complex with 180 units that opened in 2015. Township 9’s ambitious vision includes over 2,300 units, 800,000 square feet of office space, and 150,000 square feet of retail space upon full build-out.

The townhomes will provide the lowest density living option within Township 9, blending seamlessly into the urban landscape. More housing is on the horizon along Riverfront Drive, with future apartments averaging between 100 and 280 units per lot. Notably, new building permits for a five-story Hyatt Hotel at 629 Richards Boulevard were filed earlier last year, adding to the development’s appeal.
Convenient Location
Residents will enjoy unparalleled convenience, being just ten minutes away from Downtown Sacramento by bus or bicycle. The completion of this phase is anticipated by the end of the year, marking a significant milestone in the Township 9 development.
